Electronics Design
Our electronics development focuses primarily on interfacing medical equipment in demanding research environments. Typical requirements include the synchronisation of an MRI scanner with a peripheral device such as a hormone pump or subject response unit.
Further examples include electronics for electrophysiological data acquisition, signal filtering, and interfacing with haptic devices or actuators. All designs are optimised for the electromagnetic environment of the MRI suite where applicable.
Software Development
Blue Magnet specialises in the programming of neuropsychological testing paradigms — tasks specifically designed to measure psychological functions known to be linked to particular brain structures or pathways. Tests are used both for research into brain function and in clinical settings for the diagnosis of deficits.
We also develop software for machine control systems, including electronic interfaces that enable communication between medical devices and peripherals.
CAD / CAM
Most of the work we do begins with CAD modelling. This enables us to deliver right-first-time solutions that are tested in simulation before being precision machined or 3D printed using laser sintered nylon (PA12). Our simulation-first approach reduces iteration time and ensures dimensional accuracy for complex assemblies.
Machining & Fabrication
Blue Magnet offers CNC machining, plasma and laser cutting, TIG welding, metal bending, and 3D printing. We maintain a fast turnaround and outstanding quality for ergonomic feedback devices such as MRI-compatible joysticks and adjustable support systems such as stereotactic frame systems.
